Trendy Tuesday

Happy Tuesday Ya’ll! Today we are talking about a popular wedding trend that has been hot-hot-hot in 2016: “Woodland Fairytale.” This is such a fun way to incorporate some rustic pieces or anything outdoors with some really fun girly/”princessy”/crystal like accents (chandeliers, beaded curtains, hanging strands of “twinkle lights”, etc.)

Ways to incorporate this trend:

We love the idea of using clear top tents or partial clear top tents in the middle of the woods to really get the feel of being in fairytale land with string bulbs, chandeliers, and landscape lighting.unspecified-4.jpg

Custom Pieces to grace over the center of your dance floor, these grapevine balls lit up at night can give the feeling of being underneath the stars:

We really love this trend because there is really no right or wrong way to do it. It is open for interpretation and the use of your imagination. We love being able to work with brides who have a particular vision or trend they have seen. We can then bring their vision to life and make their wedding day the “fairytale” they dreamed it would be.

Feature Friday

With the crisp, fall weather shortly coming to an end we find ourselves looking forward to the frigid, winter weather. And no, it is not because we love cold weather! But because this season brings forward so so so many ideas of pure winter magic!

So follow along with us today as we are dreaming of those gorgeous winter weddings. You know the ones we are talking about. The breathtaking weddings that have guests feeling as if they just walked into a wonderland of gorgeousness and bring the bride to tears.

Tara and John were married on January 17th, 2015 at The Founders Inn. They had warm amber uplighting complimented by three elegant chandeliers. The draping was amazingly spectacular! And the additional gobo projections on the wall made for a unique and elegant feel in the ballroom.

Just Married Monday

We are thrilled to be back to blogging! Kicking it off with our Just Married Monday post!

This past weekend we had the opportunity to light up the night for 2 amazing couples and 3 corporate clients. Each week we get the privilege to be apart of these special occasions, and Monday’s are the days we can reflect on what happened this past weekend and see how just some “ideas” or “words” really come to life. It is really an amazing job we have!

First Up- 10th Annual Pink Tie Gala at Richmond Convention Center .. Such a great event to be apart of which supports research and development for breast cancer and promotes awareness! This Roaring 20’s themed gala was complete with uplighting and feather-esq type gobos!2016-10-22_19-15-35_812016-10-22_19-16-20_2582016-10-22_19-19-03_993

We had the amazing opportunity to work at Hermitage Museum and Gardens for their Stickwork Opening Party! The Stickwork by Patrick Dougherty and team is out of this world!! It was an amazing opportunity to utilize some landscape lighting to highlight the new gorgeous piece. We also got to light up the tent with string bulbs and chandeliers and the iconic magnolia tree with lanterns for guests attending the party!unnamed-9unnamed-8unnamed-7unnamed-3

Lastly, we had the amazing opportunity to work at Norfolk Botanical Gardens for not 1 but 2 weddings! We got to light up the night in both Baker Hall and Rose Garden Hall. Check out some of the preview pics our technician took! We loved incoporating a lot of key lighting elements (uplighting, gobos, string bulbs, pinspots).unnamed-6unnamed-5unnamed-4
